Case study is a powerful and effective research method to examine a variety of issues, and the documents which support or disprove them. Using the case study process results in the application of hypothetical theory to real world facts. When conducting a case study, as many applicable cases as possible should be included throughout the studies.

A case, for the purposes herein, can be defined as an instance within a specific, limited timeframe, in a restricted environment, with a minimum mount of variables. The specific observed variables comprise the ‘case’, and the study is defined by the output.
Case study techniques are applied across a variety of fields and disciplines, including music, law, medical, scientific, and social disciplines.
